What I know about guns.
I fired a couple of 9mm weapons at a range on a trip a few months ago to Las Vegas. What I forgot that I’d see was muzzle flash from the pistol. What surprised me about the rifle was how there was so little kick - it didn’t jolt in my hands like I thought that it might. Knowing that I went in there to find out what these instruments to kill do, I came away with the sense that guns don’t give a person firing them a sensation commensurate with their designed purpose: to kill.
