You flagged my reply for review, LAist?

A few hours have past since I posted my reply to the comment linked to above. It would seem that the LAist’s moderator is sleeping in this morning…could be watching the Lakers.

Good thing that I caught the text of the reply before it disappeared in to Disqus’ dead letter bowels and I have my own blog to publish it with.

What does it mean when you take an entire movement of autonomous individuals, and call it “inept”?

It means that you know nothing about my history of participation with Occupy or my considered input to the movement to make it more effective. It also means that your regard for autonomy is over valued.

Perhaps it would be better to reflect on your own role in the world, and your own activism.

I have and that’s why I denounce Occupy for being inept. The world isn’t becoming a better place with you reacting to someone calling out a group or organization for ineffectiveness or apostasy, either.

Evil sometimes happens when good people THINK they are doing something about it.

That’s a convenient way of looking at the world when you don’t really want to be accountable for improving the world…give away any power you could have to fate.

Really? Alex Jones?

Yep, all types were attracted to Occupy….

Meetings are an addictive, highly self-indulgent activity that corporations and other organizations habitually engage in only because they cannot masturbate.

Occupy is kinda like that, too.

Nope, they're still not getting it about what it will take to win.

You’d think that I’m telling them to be a corporate drone instead of taking a couple lessons from them.

It Looks like We Missed the Kochs by a few dozen miles.

So Buzzfeed’s Eric Wolff got the scoop that Occupy San Diego’s investigation didn’t turn up: The Koch Brothers so called Path To Freedom enclave was in Carlsbad, not downtown as some occupiers thought:

a larger map to show how far off we were

I’m disappointed - I feel like a chump. I certainly can’t blame Martha or Mark for that: they worked hard and gave it their best effort. It’s just that Eric Wolff had to have his scoop instead of sharing his information with others before publication.

I think that the demonic duo will get the message with this downtown.

To our brothers in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Canada, Brunei, Vietnam, and across the US, Join us in Occupy San Diego on July 7 to #StopTPP. The TPP is the new NAFTA, but this time if going after everything from land and resources to…

Since the Senate ratifies treaties, does anyone want to participate in a series of non-violent, completely legal action(s) at our Senator’s field offices in town?

Who ever is the New York County District Attorney matters to all of the U.S.A.

How Wall Street Killed Financial Reform & How You Can Push Back on it

In a mostly-silent process few Americans know about, reform opponents are currently pushing nearly a dozen highly technical bills through congress that will allow bankers to manipulate the prices of everything from corn to heating oil to municipal bonds: “The giant reform bill turned out to be like the fish reeled in by Hemingway’s Old Man – no sooner caught than set upon by sharks that strip it to nothing long before it ever reaches the shore…With the Quislingian covert assistance of Democrats, both in Congress and in the White House, those bills could pass through the House and the Senate with little or no debate, with simple floor votes – by a process usually reserved for things like the renaming of post offices or a nonbinding resolution celebrating Amelia Earhart’s birthday.”

Bullied Gay Teen Brings Stun Gun To School, Faces Expulsion

And nowhere is there a mention of the district that failed this kid. No link to a page of the phone numbers and addresses of members of this Board of Education of that district which lets hatred fester in the schools they allege to care for.
If you want to actually make a difference for LGBT kids in schools, and you need to light a fire under the asses of the members of the Board of Education who failed the kid, who placated the bigots they represent that let the kid get pushed around.
I’ve been cranky about activist things not being effective lately. With that caveat, I’ll thank you to keep your outrage about kids being bullied in schools to yourself and not share it with me or anyone else with an internet connection and a telephone who could apply pressure on the responsible parties to make a difference if you’re not going to find the contact information for that Board of Education.
